Must & Have to

                

Regulation (Rule) = Have to

=> Use “Have to”

e.g :

* In traffic light

- You have to stop

* In green light

- Fuad has to go ahead

Must = the meaning is Need

=> Must = Need to (important/ necessary)

e.g :

* I must drink

- I need to drink

* You are not thirsty

- I don’t need to drink

- I needn’t drink

- I don’t have to drink

Can’t = Forbidden

e.g : fasting (puasa)

* You can’t drink water

* You mustn’t drink water

Must = need

Have to = obligation (wajib)

Mustn’t = can’t

Don’t have to = don’t need to (needn’t) = it’s Ok.
