Preference

=> Talking about like/ dislike

1. General preference

=> Hobby, favorite : use “prefers”

e.g :

* Vina prefers instant noodle   

* Rudi prefers chinese food to noodle => Don’t use “than”

2. Specific preference

=> Choose : use “would prefer”

e.g :

* I would prefer durian rather than ice cream

* I would prefer to eat durian rather than eat ice cream

“To eat” is posibble change “eating”

* “Would rather”

e.g :

- I would rather eat durian than ice cream

- I would rather Fuad came earlier

- I’d rather Fuad didn’t come late

e.g :

* Would you rather be teacher or doctor?

=> I’d rather be a teacher than a doctor

*  Would you prefer  to be teacher or doctor?

=> I’d prefer to be teacher rather than doctor
